Many folk in Hastings, Napier or further south in Central Hawke's Bay or Dannevirke are just happy plodding along and doing the same old things every day and spending their lives in the same old places. The chances are though, if you’re reading this, you’re not like that, and maybe you’re one of those who dream of freedom - freedom from mediocrity, from being trapped as a wage slave, or perhaps of working for someone not as capable as yourself. Or it could be being able to do more of the things you want to do or even make a difference to the lives of others, not counting improving your work-life balance and getting more satisfaction from your work.
Well, for those dreams to come true, you’re far more likely to succeed if you set yourself goals, of what you want to achieve and by when. That way, you know exactly what you’re aiming for and you can work out what you need to do attain your goals.
If you set yourself goals that you really wish to achieve (maybe to travel round the world, take a year’s sabbatical, spend more time with the family or do some volunteer work) it’s so much easier to focus on and get done all those day-to-day tasks in your life or business which you may not enjoy doing, because then, everything you do moves you a step closer to helping you reach your goals. In short, having goals will keep you on track and motivated, to work hard and effectively towards success in both your business and your life.
So start turning your dreams into reality by setting yourself some goals. Success in business or work is for most of us a necessary step to achieving success in life, and not just financially.
